Ponshukan sake vending machine tasting in Niigata ぽんしゅ館

There are 3 Ponshukan ぽんしゅ館 shops in Niigata prefecture: Niigata city station (west wing), Echigo-Yuzawa station and Nagaoka station. You can sample 117 different sake brands from all over Niigata prefecture for 500 yen. Each sake machine shows basic info about the brewery and its taste characteristics.

How it works

• For 500 yen you get 5 coins and a small glass.
• After you choose your sake, insert the coin in the vending machine, place your glass in the apposite place and press the button for the sake to flow.
• With each coin you can taste 1 cup of sake, so 5 different sakes for 500 yen.

It is  definitely a nice way to try a lot of different sakes. The English descriptions help you a bit in choosing the right one.
