Hokkaido Seicomart & Hot Chef
Warm rice balls and fried chicken from Hokkaido's own convenience store chain.
Published
Seicomart is a convenience store chain found only in Hokkaido. What makes it special is Hot Chef, its in-store hot food counter. Every item has an English translation with a short explanation, and as the name suggests, everything is kept warm.
The onigiris are especially good: because they're kept warm rather than refrigerated, the rice stays soft instead of drying out like the chilled versions at 7-Eleven, Lawson, or FamilyMart. They're affordable and generously sized. The chicken wings are also worth getting.
